An incentive for giving birth at the health clinic
story Wednesday, July 13, 2016
Over half of the women in Uganda still give birth at home and even fewer attend the recommended number of antenatal care visits. With support from Swedish PostCodeLottery and AMREF International, a scheme has been developed that encourages women to give birth at properly equipped clinics. One of the incentives is the availability of Solvatten, which ensures safe, hot water throughout the birthing process.
This is a great initiative that encourages women to give birth in safe conditions. Births here have doubled in recent months.
