Axfood, one of the largest food retailers in Scandinavia, has provided 1,000 families in Uganda with Solvatten units, ensuring they have access to clean water whilst simultaneously reducing household fuel expenses, environmental damage and greenhouse gas emissions.
The project forms part of Axfood’s climate compensation initiative, which has also seen the company reduce air travel and incorporate environmentally friendly Garant Såklart production strategies.
Solvatten supports the objectives of this initiative by:
Reducing users’ need to burn fuels, such as charcoal and wood, by approximately 50%
Subsequently alleviating stress on natural resources
