Using Solvatten in host community, Kakuma, Kenya
A Solvatten project in Kenya run by Lutheran World Federation (LWF) – World Service, has proven great success- both the Kakuma Refugee Camp and host communities have recorded significant health improvements, reduced cases of diarrheal disease, reduced eye infections among children, improved hygiene as well as reduced fuel use.
Families, especially women, explain that Solvatten gives them more time for other chores as they now spend less time on gathering firewood, boiling and heating water. With the extra time households can now engage in income generating activities, get more time for education and participate in community meetings. Report can be found here.
