Access to a sustainable energy services is vital for the achievement of all eight Millennium Development Goals (MDG). The United Nations Development Programme and the International Energy Agency estimate that 1.3 billion people do not have electricity, around 20% of the world’s population and most of them located in Sub-Saharan Africa.
