When the ambient temperature is high and a bucket with water is placed openly in the sunlight microbial growth is exponential. By ensuring access to safe, heated quality water for hygiene and bathing especially important to families with baby girls we clearly see that clean and hot water can reduce the risk for infections from parasites such as Schistosomiasis. This is important as preventing Female Genital Schistosomiasis (FGS) makes girls less susceptible to HIV at a later stage of life.
