The Solvatten Charitable Foundation started in the fall of 2013 with the aim of concretely and sustainably improving the living conditions for people, especially women and children, who live without clean water.

The Solvatten Charitable Foundation, with organization number 802477-9293, administers all donations received from the public, which the foundation uses to implement selected Solvatten projects. The Stockholm County Administrative Board reviews the foundation’s activities, guaranteeing that funds are used appropriately. Since 2022, the foundation has a 90-account, which means we are also audited annually by Svensk Insamlingskontroll (Swedish Fundraising Control).

Part of the foundation’s work also involves conducting advocacy and campaign efforts to generate engagement in Sweden. Our ambition is for the Solvatten Charitable Foundation to eventually become a platform for international cooperation, highlighting direct and sustainable solutions for vulnerable people and children.

Tax Deduction

The Solvatten Charitable Foundation has been an approved recipient for tax deductions by the Swedish Tax Agency since June 8, 2022. As a donor to approved recipients, you can receive a tax deduction on your donations. If you wish for your donation to be registered for a tax deduction, please write “Skattereduktion” (Tax Deduction) with your donation and email donations@solvatten.org so we can get your information.

For more information, visit Skatteverket (the Swedish Tax Agency).

What are the requirements for tax deductibility of donations?

You must make a donation of at least SEK 200 on each occasion. In total, over a year, you must have donated a total of SEK 2,000 to one or more approved recipients. You will then receive a deduction of 25% of the donation amount.

The maximum deduction amount is SEK 3,000, meaning you can make donations of up to SEK 12,000 per year if you wish to claim a tax deduction.

To take advantage of this, you don’t need to do anything except mark your donation with “Skattereduktion” (Tax Deduction) and contact us to share your personal identification number and address so we can report it to the Swedish Tax Agency that you wish to claim a deduction.
